Is it normal for my chihuahua to wanting to sleep a lot?
I have eight years old female Chihuahua. Lately he has been sleeping a lot. I do not know if this is normal or not. She sleeps almost all day long, and so she wants to play all the time in the afternoon.
As dogs get older, they tend to sleep more. They just need more rest than younger dogs may not have the energy as before, but not necessarily mean there is something wrong with your dog. The next time you take your dog to the vet, you may make a large panel of blood work your dog, and you can tell if your dog may need some extra vitamins or nutrition. Your dog is 8 years old, which means that it is close to 60 years old in human years, so it is getting older, and only needs rest more than I did when I was younger.
