sleep apnea panic attacks

I've been experiencing panic attacks, sleep apnea and sleep paralysis, anxiety ….?

I used to exercise 1-2 hours day running and lifting weights, then retired after getting married. I'm still in good shape, I've been motivation for training, almost like I'm afraid my heart beats rapidly. We have had many problems so far, and I think I may be going through a lot of stress. I try to exercise, but the starting phase of the exercise can give me more anxiety and palpatations. Ive tried antidepressants, but only make the condition worse. My mouth is dry, my throat tightens up, and I fell like Im gonna die. It's like I'm in a dead end. What other possibilities can try to get back to normal? Not to mention I used to be an alcoholic and had to drink to sleep. I do not drink anymore and I think that's why I can not sleep at night, and if I do I may suffer panic attacks in my sleep. His really afraid to experience sleep paralysis! All the doctors I've seen havent helped me at all. Just wondering what other people would. Thank you.

I have severe anxiety and depression and I know exactly what you're talking about. I take Lexapro and Klonopin for my depression and anxiety also taking ambien at night to help me sleep and now I feel like I'm going to die anymore. Also might need some therapy to help overcome stress and fear of death. that could help. and let your partner know what might help you too and give you the support you need. Hope this helps

sleep apnea choking

sleep apnea choking

There are many misconceptions about the causes and symptoms of sleep apnea. Many believe that the greatest threat of this disease is choking to death. Actually Choking is the least of the problems caused by this disease. Here are some of the more serious side effects and symptoms of sleep apnea.

Decrease blood oxygen during apnea incidents.

This is by far the biggest problem of this disease. A sharp drop in blood oxygen is what really makes people die of this disease. Lack of oxygen causes the brain goes into a mini-coma that the victim often does not awake. Is this fall of oxygen in the brain that can cause death in victims of sleep apnea and not the unpleasant experience of waking up choking. The lack of oxygen to the brain can have many long-term effects, including brain cell injury and loss of memory.

Irregular heartbeat, arrhythmia heart and lung dysfunction.

There is growing evidence that sleep apnea can cause or at least a contributing factor to the problems with electrical conductivity of the heart. Irregular heartbeat and atrial fibrillation are common in patients with apnea. The regulation of blood pressure, either too high or too low is also a common problem associated with sleep apnea.

Irregular heartbeat can create blood clots victim in the extremities that can travel to the heart and lungs and cause instant death.

Obesity – the chicken or the egg?

Sleep apnea is thought to be a condition linked to obesity. Fatty tissue in the throat, the airway closes during sleep, reduced of oxygen in the brain, but there is growing evidence that sleep apnea may actually be the cause or at least a factor of obesity.

The reason you need for sleep is that your body needs to repair and renew itself for the damage that free radicals and cause muscular exercise daily to our cellular structure. During sleep deep, the body completes these repairs and restoration itself to optimum performance.

There is a process called the Krebs cycle in which food is converted into simple sugars, which are then converted to molecules of microenterprises. These micro-molecules combine with oxygen in the blood and burned in the oven metabolic of our muscle cells. These molecules of fuel are stored in muscle cells to be burned (combined with oxygen) in the metabolic furnace muscle when the body is exercise or physical exertion.

Without the storage of cellular nutrients or fuel muscle metabolic furnace run slower. The body senses famine and attempts to reduce the metabolic rate to keep your car fuel is fully executed. Running the fuel is almost as dangerous as running out of oxygen. The fuel is needed to maintain body temperature and the basic body functions. Without a minimum of metabolic fuel die. The shortage of fuel metabolism causes muscle atrophy, which also decreases the body's metabolic rate in general.

When sleep is interrupted, the Krebs cycle is disrupted and cell rejuvenation and proper storage of nutrients in cells is limited. This means that less of the nutrients that we in our bodies is actually used for our bodily needs and the rest is stored as fat. Meanwhile, even with over-nutrition, the body feels weak and private and attempts to compensate with cravings for sugars and other nutrients easily assimilated. Your body is trying to build quickly on these micro-fuel metabolic to protect its very survival.

This inability to use the food we consume more creates a spiral of eating and obesity. Apnea Sleep may not be the immediate cause of obesity, but can certainly contribute to the problem and can make almost impossible to maintain a healthy weight.

Fatigue, laziness and lack of ambition.

Sleep apnea can create a mountain of blood sugar roller cravings and excesses in the diet. The lack of sleep and metabolic disorders can contribute to diseases such as diabetes and multiple nutrient deficiencies. Fatigue, laziness and even lack of ambition can attributed, at least in part, to sleep apnea.

Mood and chronic depression

There is reason to believe that disturbances sleep in general can contribute to long term chronic depression. Depression is a devastating syndrome that can literally destroy your life.

Apnea is a controllable disease that can cause so many other times, less controllable diseases. If you think you may be suffering from sleep apnea run, not walk, the nearest qualified sleep specialist. Get tested and treated for this disease before it leads to serious health problems.
